Schleese Recipient of An(other) Award!

This past week Schleese Saddlery Service Ltd. was honoured twice – once locally as a finalist for Innovator of the Year at the Business Excellence Awards through the Chamber of Commerce and once with a prestigious, globally recognized award as winner of Female CEO of the Year in the category of Women in Business through the International Trade Council. The “Go Global – Think Globally 2019” international conference was held Oct. 22-23 in Chicago, and saw more than 200 attendees from over 37 countries around the globe. Over 3800 entries for 60 categories were received, with the conference offering non-stop workshops and seminars on everything to do with exporting and global positioning.

Schleese also qualified to receive the “Quality in Business” Certification, which is an independent, third-party evaluation program. It is the only global assessment methodology and business certifications standard designed to highlight commitment to innovation, continuous improvement and adherence to global best practices. The standard includes 16 key functions, 96 core criteria, and 249 compliance indicators. It is reviewed and updated annually. It provides assurance to our clients and suppliers of our integrity and reliability.

The politically correct designation we now use in Canada for “Chief Executive Officer” is Managing Director, a role taken over by Miriam Boutros-Dale since mid 2018. Under her direction, the company has continued to expand, with founder Jochen Schleese being a featured educational presenter at the upcoming New Zealand Equitana. Schleese was also involved with the Equitana in Melbourne in 2018, where the company won a “Best Booth” award.
