Schleese Education for July 2024 – 12 Livestreams to View
Join us for one of the livestreams listed below at your convenience and educate yourself on the latest developments in saddle fitting! Mark your calendars!

  1. Madeline Byrd – https://www.instagram.com/controlhaltdelete/ – July 3 @ 4:00 pm EST
Madeline started her riding journey around 10 and found herself with an OTTB around 15. They dabbled in local shows but stuck to trail rides and in-hand work. Shortly after losing her heart horse, a young quarter horse fell into her lap. Hundreds of miles on the trails later, they found their love for eventing and will hopefully make their BN debut this season, maybe with a little yellow horse named Pickle Chip in tow.
  2. Livestream Q&A with Jochen Schleese – July 4 @ 4:30 pm EST
  3. Gen – https://www.instagram.com/genuinequine/ – July 9 @ 3:00 pm EST
Gen has been working with horses for 14 years and specializing in positive reinforcement for the last four. Currently pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, she aims to integrate her equine expertise into her future practice in equine-assisted mental health counselling. Gen is passionate about the well-being of both humans and horses and considers saddle fit an extremely important element of good horsemanship.
  4. Brooklynne K – https://www.instagram.com/sagee_equestrian/ – July 10 @ 1:00 pm EST
Brooklynne is a 21-year-old equestrian from Utah who has been riding for as long as she can remember. She grew up competing in western 4-H and started riding English in 2018. She has since competed with the Utah State English equestrian team. Brooklynne now trains horses and teaches horsemanship lessons. She owns three horses: a paint horse, an OTTB, and a Mustang. All of her horses are vastly different, so saddle fit can become tricky. She wants to be able to provide and share knowledge about saddle fit with her clients. It’s important to her that the horses she works with have the very best care with the knowledge available.
  5. Brey Lawlor – https://www.instagram.com/sustainablybalancedequine/ – July 10 @ 3:00 pm EST
  6. Alexisandra Travis – https://www.instagram.com/sc00byd1zzl3/
    https://www.tiktok.com/@sc00byd1zzl3  July 12 @ 3:00 pm EST
Alex Travis is an Indigenous veteran from Arizona with over two decades of large animal training and handling experience, as well as a Master’s Degree of Science in Animal Biomedical Sciences. She owns 8 equines; 2 registered quarter horses, 5 Mustangs, 1 draft cross Mustang and 2 donkeys. Alex’s training emphasis is on meeting the 3Fs and LIMA protocols, exclusively trains with positive reinforcement and most of her program is at liberty. She primarily works with feral/untouched horses and ones that have had a violent or aggressive history.
  7. Mandy – https://www.instagram.com/todaywithgus/ – July 17 @ 3:00 pm EST
Mandy and her horse Gus have been on quite the journey with saddle fit. Gus is particular and opinionated about different trees, and Mandy always puts his feelings/needs above her own. Having the right-shaped tree for Gus and the correct fit for her own body is a top priority for Mandy. She is interested in saddle fit to make sure she is advocating for Gus’s best interests and putting him first through it all. She advocates for proper saddle fit and only riding when the horse’s back is healthy and properly developed.
  8. Macy – https://www.instagram.com/mila_the_mustang/ – July 18 @ 4:00 pm EST
  9. Kenz Wilde – https://www.instagram.com/wildechild_official/ – July 22 @ 12:00 pm EST
Kenz grew up in the saddle, starting with hunter/jumper and dressage before switching to Western. She participated in internships throughout high school and college to learn about reining, cutting, and colt-starting. She loved colt-starting and proceeded to dive into the world of Mustangs, specifically the aggressive ones. Using science-based methods, she studied the equine brain, how trauma affects its ability to function, and more. She has published several books on equine-related matters. Kenz is currently a horse trainer and riding instructor who specializes in educating others on kinder, more humane horsemanship methods. She is working on another book about saddle fit, riding equipment, equine biomechanics and more. This would not only be a way to further research for her book but also to gain more knowledge and experience to share with others.
  10. Stefanie Skidmore – https://www.instagram.com/wildhorse_outreach_advocacy/ – July 22 @ 2:00 pm EST
Stefanie Skidmore is the director, trainer, founder and president of Wild Horse Outreach & Advocacy (WHOA). She has 30 years of experience training horses of various ages, breeds and sizes on two continents, and over 7 years of experience working almost exclusively with wild horses. She has been teaching horsemanship for well over a decade and has an academic background in biology with a focus on animal behaviour and husbandry, as well as human psychology and behaviour through her work as a mental health therapist. In her free time, Stefanie enjoys learning more about horses and horsemanship as well as exploring the Mountain West, ideally on horseback. She regularly takes the WHOA Ambassador Mustangs on backcountry rides and overnight pack trips.
  11. Kate Kudelko – https://www.instagram.com/painted_dressage/  – July 23 @ 1:00 pm EST
Kate is a young professional based in Brooksville, Florida, specializing in training ponies, small horses, and rescues in dressage. Most of her client’s horses are paints and stock crosses, so she has run into her fair share of complications fitting horses who have very wide shoulders in comparison to the size of their body.
  12. Livestream Lecture with Jochen Schleese – June 25 @ 4:30 pm EST
