The Olympic stage is many athlete’s pinnacle. For Mimi Stanley, it’s no different. Her sport may be though. Mimi competes in dressage and has won competitions around the country. Dressage is in the Olympics and measures how well you have trained your horse in different exercises. Mimi is so good at it, she recently got a sponsorship from Schleese, a world renowned saddle making company

“It really is a confidence boost, that’s a great way of saying it. To be a company where I believe in their product so much and how much difference they make for the horse and rider, I’m just thrilled and it’s a great feeling. What drew me to it was the precision, I’m kind of a detail oriented person. You develop a great relationship with the horse. It’s increasing more and more communication,”
Not only did Mimi get a big sponsorship, she got a new horse. A mare was flown in from Germany a few weeks ago and as Mimi tries to get her adjusted, her main horse, Holeandra, will just have to deal with it.
“It does have its complications because my current mare-she’s a bit of a jealous type. Since she’s the main horse, she’s kind of the queen. My young mare is very engaging but she doesn’t have quite such opinions yet. We’ll see how it develops. it kind of develops as they get older,”
