Sandrine Senechal
CSE, CEE
- Québec
Sandrine’s passion for horses began at a very young age, to the point where she does not recall a time without a deep fascination for them. However, limited access to riding lessons in her early years led her to devote much of her childhood and adolescence to swimming. Determined to pursue her interest in horses, she began working as a swimming instructor at 14 to fund more regular riding lessons and eventually saved enough to purchase her first horse at 18.
While initially pursuing an academic career in linguistics, her career direction shifted following a pivotal experience with her previous horse and an ill-fitting saddle that had been ”custom-made” for them. When the significant difficulties both rider and horse had been experiencing over the previous year were ultimately traced back to this saddle, it revealed the profound impact proper saddle fit can have on both equine and rider health and comfort. This discovery inspired her to pursue certification with Saddlefit 4 Life, completing both the CEE (Certified Equine Ergonomist) and CSE (Certified Saddle Ergonomist) programs.
Sandrine chose to transition from academia to the equine industry guided by a commitment to horse welfare and a growing interest in saddle fit and related biomechanics. Her decision to join Schleese reflects a shared dedication to evidence-based practices, research, and the comfort and well-being of horses and riders alike.
In her work as a trained and certified Saddle Fit Technician, Sandrine focuses on careful observation, precision, and a deep understanding of each horse-rider combination. Attentive to subtle signs of discomfort or compensation, she develops solutions that promote proper biomechanics, relaxation, and long-term soundness.
Committed to ongoing education and client collaboration, Sandrine aims to empower riders with the knowledge and tools necessary to better understand and support their horses. Her work reflects her expertise, integrity, attention to detail, and passion.
