Leanne Murray
CSE, CEE
- Coldwater, Ontario
Leanne’s passion for horses started with her first formal riding lessons at the age of 10. Shortly after, like every little girl’s dream, her dad bought her a pony, and so began a lifelong journey in many facets of the equine industry. From riding, training and competing in eventing, to working in the tack store, to
becoming first, an Equine Massage Therapist, then a Registered Massage Therapist (for the humankind) and now as a Certified Saddle Ergonomist. It seems as though Leanne’s experiences with horses continually bring her in new directions.
After having a hiatus from riding for close to a decade while raising her 2 daughters, Leanne got back into horses as her girls both clearly inherited her passion, and so purchased the most beautiful little quarter horse mare for them to ride. Following a year of riding in a saddle that was not correctly fitted,
undesirable behaviours were arising. A good friend recommended having a Certified Saddle Ergonomist from Schleese evaluate the saddle. It was very clear that this evaluation was thorough and precise and this was well educated saddle fitter. I immediately thought “I need to know
what she knows”. And so the journey to becoming a CSE began.
Leanne’s Background in massage therapy for both horses and humans, made the philosophy learned through the Saddlefit For Life Academy, of how a saddle should fit the horse and the rider, so very clear, and it just made sense. The behaviours her horse was exhibiting were due to the saddle being too long and causing permanent damage to the little mare’s back. Leanne’s mission is to take this knowledge and help educate owners so that their horses don’t have to suffer the same pain her horse did due to something within their control.
