Imke has been around horses since the age of 6. Never been able to have her own horse until she moved to Alaska in 1997. Soon after her daughter was born in 2001, a wonderful Friesian came into her life with all the challenges one can think of. Alaska is so far away from specialized horse professionals, so she started learning herself how she could help her Friesian. First she was certified as an Equine Bodyworker through Equinology, then in addition, followed a path to professional barefoot trimming. Finally, saddle fit was a huge issue amongst her own horse and that of fellow equestrians around her. She decided to follow the trajectory through Saddlefit4Life and has been one of Schleese Certified Saddle Fitters (CSE) for years now in the United States ever since.

Imke moved to New England in the spring of 2022 to be near her college aged daughter Sanne. She now resides in New Hampshire with 3 cats, one dog and her 6 year old PRE mare Electra.
