Heather has been a horse lover for her entire life, getting hooked after her first trail ride through the Rocky Mountains as a child.
Growing up she rode several disciplines but discovered her true love of Western riding after college.
A registered veterinary technician, Heather felt that the alternative modalities offered to small animals could certainly benefit our larger, 4-legged companions, and so, sought out training in equine massage.
Over the last 16 years of treating, caring for, and learning from the horses, she was left wanting to do more to make them comfortable in their work and lives. This desire pushed her to seek further education in other areas such as acupressure, myofascial release, biomechanics, nutrition, and even Reiki, allowing her to develop her own therapeutic technique.
Heather’s quest for whole-horse solutions, not just band-aids, is what eventually brought her to Schleese. A shared passion to help riders and their horses within their entire circle of influence, keeping the well-being of the horse at its core is what makes Schleese a perfect fit.
Now as a CSE, Heather is excited to share her knowledge and help even more horses and riders to ride pain-free!
