Carrie White
CSE, CEE
- Paradise, Nova Scotia
Carrie’s passion for horses started at a young age when her mother encouraged her to join a local 4-H horse club. From that point on Carrie developed a love affair that would never die. She trained and showed both Morgan Horses and Miniature Horses from the ages 10-21 years old. She then continued to expand her discipline experience and dabbled in hunter/jumpers, eventing and western pleasure with her Morgan Horse and eventually her young Thoroughbred/Canadian Sport Horse mare. She and her husband own a small hobby farm in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia. They have 4 horses, 6 goats, 3 dogs and 2 cats. She has two young horses to “bring up” over the next few years and is elated to have the option to start these babies in properly fitted saddles from Day 1 now.
Carrie is a seasoned Registered Nurse and has worked in many facets of the public and federal healthcare systems. She is a retired Nursing Officer with the Canadian Armed Forces. Carrie’s drive to always help others and her passion for horses led her to eventually meet with CSE Heather Doig for a Schleese saddle fitting appointment after a long unsuccessful struggle to find a properly fitted saddle for both herself and her retired Standardbred gelding. Upon meeting Heather and experiencing the Schleese assessment process, Carrie was “hooked”. The experience was mind-opening for her and she immediately knew this was what she wanted to do. Her passion for “helping others”, her medical training and her awareness of interacting body systems give her an excellent base of knowledge to become an advocate for both riders and horses. After experiencing many years of hip and back pain herself while riding, the ability to offer a service that not only fits the horse but also fits the rider is
something that Carrie is extremely passionate about.
Carrie is excited to be able to offer these services locally in the Atlantic provinces and is ready to help the horse community of eastern Canada
expand their knowledge and understanding of how to keep horses and riders comfortable and safe while spending hours in the saddle!
