I bought by Merci XC several years ago at Rolex in Lexington, KY. I am so happy with my purchase as is my horse Morocco. He is a Clyde/Hackney cross, has huge shoulders, tall withers, and is not an easy horse to fit. The Merci XC gave him the freedom he needed in the shoulder and the channel width he needed for his massive spine. For me. the narrow twist helped a long-standing hip issue and with the extra-extended stirrup bars, it helps me to find the balance I had been looking for over fences. Thank you Schleese for making a wonderful saddle.

I bought my Merci 3 years ago at the Equine Affaire in Columbus, Ohio. Jochen was there and talked about the importance of fitting the female anatomy. I had been riding a western saddle but, as I have gotten older, my hips were complaining as the western saddle was so wide. I had to take 2 Aleve before I rode. After 2 hours, my hips were very sore. Then I bought my Merci. Now when I ride, I do not take any Aleve . I ride 2 hours everyday and up to 4 hours at different parks that I ride at. I clocked 300 trail riding hours on my Arabians last year. I will be 74 on April 22. The narrow twist of the Merci is perfect for older riders. It is easier to go up and down hills as this saddle keeps you right in place. The joy of riding has been returned to me. Happy trail to all of you that use this saddle for this purpose.

Good Morning Miriam. You correspond and work with many people and you are fabulous! After having my Schleese saddle remade for my young Connemara it is now like owning a different horse! His movement is now forward and he is obviously happy and comfortable. The change in my gelding is phenomenal! Also no more bucking. If you remember he didn't canter. Just buck around the arena!
