David Boots is a Schleese Ambassador and accomplished dressage rider based in Caledon, Ontario. He has been riding in Schleese saddles since his junior years and continues to trust them for horse comfort and performance. David currently rides in Schleese’s ‘Let’s Dance’ saddles with mono flaps, PSI panel, short high wedge and customized thigh blocks.
David began riding at age 8. While learning English riding basics, he quickly connected with dressage and showed a natural ability to partner with any horse.
As a junior, David became a two-time Canadian Young Riders Champion. He was also selected for the Canadian NAYRC team, where he earned Canada’s highest score in 1998 with Karim, a 10-year-old Arab x Trakehner gelding he developed from the ground up to PSG.
Guided by Olympic rider Ute Busse, David trained and competed up to Grand Prix level. After producing two competitive PSG horses, he shifted focus to a business career while planning for future equestrian goals.
In 2018, David and his wife Eirinn Boots built a private training facility in Caledon, Ontario. Their program emphasizes hands-on horse care and individualized training. Together, they draw on years of experience in dressage, hunter-jumper, young horse development, and remedial training. They prioritize each horse’s wellness, individuality, and performance potential.
With a focus on high-performance young horse development, David is currently producing several promising FEI dressage prospects.
Commitment to Horses
David believes in “horse first, sport second.” Proper saddle fit is essential for both horse and rider. Working with Schleese Saddlery ensures that each horse is matched with a saddle tailored to its shape, movement, and stage of development—allowing riders to perform at their best.
