Alex Johnson

Schleese Ambassador

Alex was introduced to Schleese in 2018 after taking on a Lusitano gelding that was very atrophied and unbalanced. He could not hold a canter, was tense behind the leg, and very braced in the body. By working with the Schleese fitters over the course of four years, in combination with classical dressage training, they were able to bring this horse’s body from inches of lateral asymmetry to less than a millimetre’s difference! Not only that, but Alex and that little horse who couldn’t canter went on to compete successfully at PSG.

The education she has received from the Schleese saddle fitters with their SaddleFit4Life training has helped Alex to better assess and train the horses in her program, Festina Lente Sport Horses. When she took on her current project, Romero BCN, a seven-year-old PRE gelding, she knew who to call for saddle fitting help.

As a young professional, Alex’s current goals include developing Romero BCN and the other horses in her program to the FEI level in dressage, cross-training in eventing, and growing her knowledge of classical dressage.

“Thank you, Schleese, for helping our bodies work to the best of their abilities as we strive toward these goals daily!”
